Contributory Options

Contributory Parent visas

These visas let parents of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia, at a cost. Parents can apply for permanent residency straight away, or via a temporary visa and then a permanent visa, allowing them to spread out the application costs over a number of years.

Contributory Aged Parent visas

These visas let parents (aged 65 or over) of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia, at a cost. Parents can apply for permanent residency straight away, or via a temporary visa and then a permanent visa, allowing them to spread out the application costs over a number of years.

Non-Contributory Options

Aged Parent Visa

This visa lets older parents (aged 65 or over) live in Australia if their child is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen who is settled in Australia. There can be long waiting times of up to 13 years before this visa is approved.

Family Visas

Age Dependent Relative Visa

This visa allows an aged relative to migrate to Australia if they are reliant on an eligible relative in Australia for financial support.​

Remaining Relative Visa

This visa allows a person to migration to Australia on a permanent basis if their only near relatives are living in Australia.

Carer Visa

This visa is allows a person to migrate to Australia:
1. To care for a relative in Australia who has a long-term or permanent medical condition
2. To assist a relative providing this care to a member of their family unit who has a long-term or permanent medical condition.

Child Visas

Child visa

This visa allows a child who is outside Australia to come to Australia to live with their parents whom are an Australian citizen, permanent resident visa or New Zealand citizen.

Dependent Child visa

This is a temporary visa allowing a child to their parent in Australia whilst their parent’s permanent Partner visa is finalized.
