One of the requirements of the Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme, subclass 187 visa is that the position needs to be certified by a Regional Certification Body (RCB).
Each area has a different RCB. Each RCB has a different set of rules that can be changed without notice.
To find out the correct RCB that will process your application, you can either consult Immigrations’ website for a list of the Assessing Bodies or Google RCB and the region (i.e. RCB Nerang), always use the latest checklist available. If unsure if you have the correct RCB, call or email them.
In general, all RCBs will assess if the business is operating locally, if there is a genuine need for the position and if the business has genuinely tried to fill position with an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident; for that, the business will have to advertise the position for a certain period of time.
It is important that you refer to each individual RCB’s checklist; for example, Western Australia stipulates how and where you must advertise whereas other RCB’s simply stipulate that you must advertise.
RCBs application fee varies from office to office, please contact RCB for current charges.
RCB should be applied for and approved prior to Nomination lodgement, although this is not a requirement.
