Partner Visas

February 12, 2014 by Rosie Acutt

Doing a partner visa? Chances are you feel like you are drowning in paperwork.

You are not alone.

Thousands of partner visa applications are lodged each and every week.

Work through Immigration’s checklist slowly and methodically. Haven’t got the checklist? Download it here. Remember that Partner visas are now done online – so there is no need to fill out the old Forms 47SP/40SP. However, the online forms are similar, so it is a good idea to complete the forms in paper before you attempt to fill out the online forms.

There are a number of documents which must be included in a partner visa application.

Below I have some general guidelines for each document. But remember, no two relationships are the same so there is no ‘partner visa formula’ – tell Immigration about your relationship! If in doubt, seek advice from a qualified professional!
